Every Saturday night, our humble boho lounge mutates into a discotheque inspired by the timeless decadence of the notorious Studio 54, reimagined here as Disco 31. WWYYZZZRRDDZ, T.L.R.’s resident audiovisual unit, program a series of club nights and a line-up of underground DJs, crystallizing TLR Café’s reputation as one of New Delhi’s most unique and exciting nightlife destinations.

Launching into the new year with a big bang or two, WWYYZZZRRDDZ
refresh the Disco 31 format to cover an even wider swathe of
time-space in Disco 3001. The intergalactic explorers bip & bounce
across the known galaxy in search of the unknown, from quazars of
gleaming & beaming pop culture references to black holes of forgotten classics & guilty pleasures. Over 50 years ago, the first funk and disco groups were laying down the grooves that all modern dance music emerged from. WWYYZZZRRDDZ seek to forge the broken links between all these eras and genres of dance culture. Starting with original classics from soul, funk, & disco, we move into pop, R&B, hip hop, electro, & house… But we don’t stop there anymore, WWYYZZZRRDDZ bring the new millenium’s fertile fields of new genres with force: the hottest remixes & mash-ups plus global bass, gypsy house, balkan beats, dutch house, parisian filter house, jersey club, baltimore bounce, baile funk, kuduro, kwaito, secousse, shangaan, moombahton, 3bal, cumbia, afrobeat, bollywood, lollywood – it’s all up for grabs in an environment where all dance music forms a single continuum.

10/03/2012 CIRCUS OF GROOVE feat. ANDRE GARDEJA (Berlin Techno)

TLR is excited to welcome back André Gardeja! André started his early DJ career already in 1992 performing at Berlins’ legendary house club ‘Walfisch’, known as the world famous ‘Sage Club’ today. His early gigs were followed by regular DJ sets mixed for the unexcelled ‘Studio B’ underground parties in and around Berlin. The next decisive step in André’s career took place in 2001 when as a co-founder he launched the unequalled record label, event series and record store Freizeitglauben. A regular to the most popular venues in Berlin such as Tresor, Maria, Arena Club, Berghain, Dice, Renate, and Bar 25, André Gardeja is now traveling the world to discover new destinations and to pass on his vast experience in DJing to newly emerging music scenes. The great success of his first visit to India in 2009 and the outstanding crowd that bounced to his beats got him hooked on New Delhi.

Alter State (Sanil Sudan) is the co-founder of “TheMassive.in – India’s only definitive bass heavy community” and part of the “PURENOiSE” crew in Delhi. From playing a part promoting bass heavy music with his community and club nights, to push House & Techno music with the PURENOiSE crew , to working dancefloors across the city, Alter State brings his own musicality to the underground sound. Always fresh and innovative, Alter State can be seen working dance floor grooves with his unique take on House/Techno music at once and destroying dancefloors with raw bass heavy Drum and Bass/Dubstep music at the other. Always following a journey like structure in his sets on and off the floor, tracks handpicked to match various styles and mood, Alter State can always be relied on to push the conventional sounds into new and unconventional directions. Joel ‘Swaggamuffin’ Paes is originally from Goa, India, has always loved a wide range of musical styles from offbeat sounds to commercial hits as well as classics like The Rat Pack and Ella Fitzgerald. Having been privileged enough to travel and live all over the globe from London to New York and from Sydney to Kenya; he has soaked in the sights and sounds of the world and is now ready to unleash his brand of madness upon Middle Earth with his quirky take on Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Grime, Funky House, Progressive and Psychedelic Trance.
