Special Guests in April:

14/04/2012 ANDRE GARDEJA & BLOT (Techno)
TLR is excited to welcome back André Gardeja! André started his early DJ career already in 1992 performing at Berlins’ legendary house club ‘Walfisch’, known as the world famous ‘Sage Club’ today. His early gigs were followed by regular DJ sets mixed for the unexcelled ‘Studio B’ underground parties in and around Berlin. The next decisive step in André’s career took place in 2001 when as a co-founder he launched the unequalled record label, event series and record store Freizeitglauben. A regular to the most popular venues in Berlin such as Tresor, Maria, Arena Club, Berghain, Dice, Renate, and Bar 25, André Gardeja is now traveling the world to discover new destinations and to pass on his vast experience in DJing to newly emerging music scenes. The great success of his first visit to India in 2009 and the outstanding crowd that bounced to his beats got him hooked on New Delhi.

21/04/2012 DJ O.I.C. (Classic Hip-Hop)
Shaleen is a Hip-Hop pioneer in India. His original block parties, seamlessly organized and uplifting old school values of truth and positivity, served to bring together an otherwise disjointed community of dancers, djs, writers and hip-hop enthusiasts in Bombay. He was one of the first Graffiti writers in Delhi, throwing up messages and characters on impressively prominent spots all over the city. He is currently focusing on 3D photo-realism on canvas, with a vision to collaborate with sponsors on conceptualizing, sketching, and visualizing brands in India, as well as facilitating effective brand promotion at events. Shaleen will be bringing his own unique blend of old school hip-hop and funk breaks to TLR for what is sure to be a fun night.

28/04/2012 WWYYZZZRRDDZ (Tropical Heat Wave)
WWYYZZZRRDDZ, pronounced “Wizards”, is Delhi nightlife’s best kept secret. The audiovisual entertainment unit comprised of DJ Su-Real and VJ Santana have been throwing elaborate parties and eliciting the wildest crowd reactions in their hometown for 2 years now. Best known as T.L.R.’s Disco 31 residents, WWYYZZZRRDDZ developed a notoriety for
their theme nights like Carnavale, Hallowe’en, Oktoberfest, Aerobics Disco, not to mention their legendary New Year’s Eve parties. Over this time, the duo has evolved their own style, fusing diverse influences that cut across time and geography to create a nightlife experience as cosmopolitan and contemporary as the new New Delhi.

After travelling the world and working in the music scenes in NYC and Montreal, DJ Su-Real moved back to his hometown New Delhi in 2008. Since then, he’s been burning up parties with live mixes that span across genres, geography and eras – classic disco hits, old school hip hop, acid house, afrobeat, dancehall, baile funk, moombahton, digital cumbia, 3ball, electro swing, Balkan beats, French touch, Dutch house, kuduro, kwaito, bollywood, lollywood – the entire history of recorded dance music is up for grabs in Su-Real’s relentless effort to rock the party. As Imported Go(o)ds Indian ambassador, he is keenly introducing “firang” sounds to “desi” crowds – Su-Real is the first DJ to unleash Moombahton in India, receiving a massive response for his epic closing set at the Dub Station at NH7 Weekender Festival 2011 in Pune. Also in 2011, Su-Real was the official host of the epic first Indian Soundclash between Reggae Rajahs & Bassfoundation.

Santana Issar is an independent filmmaker whose documentaries have been screened at venues such as the MoMA (New York), the Oberhausen Short Film Festival Germany), the Yamagata Documentary Film Festival (Japan), the Brisbane International Film Festival (Australia) and Film South Asia (Nepal). In her experience as a freelance filmmaker/video editor, Santana has created TV commercials, brand films and viral videos for an array of clients such as advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Dentsu, corporates like Seagram’s and Aegon, and nightclubs Elevate and LAP. As a VJ, Santana Issar has collaborated with the likes of famous author Arundhati Roy, as well as indie bands Them Clones & The Ska-Vengers.
* The UNDERground * (Live Music) on Fridays*

Exciting, innovative live music from the underground. Spanning across genres from jazz, blues, rock, funk & more, and across global borders as well…

06/04/2012 SYNCOPATION (Free Jazz)
Syncopation is a contemporary and modern jazz outfit. It is setup as a trio and it’s members are all established musicians – who have years of experience behind them – playing with varying setups and at a spectrum of different gigs, concerts and events. The trio is spearheaded by Rishi Sachdeva, an extremely accomplished guitar player, accompanied by Nikhil Vasudevan on Drums and Sahil Warsi on Double Bass. Syncopation is a blend of talent and experience, as distributed amogst these three versatile musicians who have more than established a foothold for themselves in the music circuit in India.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Syncopation-The-Band/329179153790739

13/04/2012 THE PAISLEYS & MUD STUFFIN (Americana)
The Paisley’s music is an eclectic mix of folk, blues, swing and bluegrass with driving rhythm and powerful three part harmony. With guitar, banjo, harmonica, bass and percussion, they play their unique versions of songs by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Band, The Eagles, Hank Williams, Gillian Welch, Gram Parsons, The Grateful Dead and many more. The Paisleys will play songs you know as well as songs that will become new friends.

If there’s something vaguely familiar in Mud Stuffin’s name, it’s likely because there’s also something familiar about Mark Mowry and his stable of “Stud Muffins”. Mark is the former front-man for “Big Bang Blues”, the Delhi-based blues/rock sextet that has been making waves throughout NCR and points beyond (Naukuchiatal,Mumbai, Pune). With his wry and off-beat sense of humor, Mark proves himself an on-beat performer and stage personality. Mark usually manages to good-naturedly goad the audience into participation. As Mark puts it, “It’s a whole lot more fun that way.” This isn’t Mark’s first team-up with Kapil, who is also a former member of “Big Bang Blues”. In fact, it was only about a year ago that Mark & Kapil conducted a four-month stint as performers at The Sheraton, Saket. It was at the Sheraton Saket and Big Bang Blues gigs that Mark & Kapil were able to hone their repertoire of American classic blues, ballads, and ragtime. Now Mark & Kapil are joined by Kahle, Mark’s dreadnaught wielding, dreadlock-wearing son. Kahle has consistently and steadfastly followed his own musical star, only to wind up as his dad’s most adept sideman. Kahle began playing his dad’s ragtime and fingerstyle guitar tunes around four years back, and now the two seamlessly exchange licks to their catchy, toe-tapping tunes. These are serious musicians with enough experience to realize it’s not just about them – it’s about you and your night on the town. Mud Stuffin’s songlist is as diverse as their instrumental capabilities, but be sure of this – you’ll be dancing, singing, and laughing along with Mud Stuffin, and the next day you’ll be glad you did!

20/04/2012 PETER CAT RECORDING CO (Gypsy Jazz)
Peter Cat Recording Co. or PCRC is based in New Delhi/San Francisco, currently consisting of 4 members, formed in 2009. It was initially a solo project started by Suryakant Sawhney in San Francisco, eventually blossoming into a full blown band/act. The type of music we play is open to discussion, with some people saying we sound like post depression era cabaret to to the Bangalore Times calling us Experimental Dark (?). Our style ranges from Gypsy Jazz to Ballroom Waltz to Midnight Moonlight car chase music (think Don). The sound is heavily inspired by 60s/70s Bollywood music, which was in turn inspired by American music of the 50s, such as big band music and soul. Lyrically, we choose to write about prostitutes, deception, android artists and about films coming to life.

We’ve played gigs all over the country that includes several popular and prestigious venues such as Blue Frog, Mehboob Studios , Counter Culture among others. We’ve also played at outdoor festivals such as the Big Mushroom Cloud Festival and ‘Celebrate Bandra’ Festival. Earlier in the year, we embarked on a tour of the country by car driving over 7500 kms and playing gigs at Goa, Chennai , Pune , Bombay , Chandigarh and Bangalore.

http://www.petercatrecordingco.com/

27/04/2012 MOONSHINE (Psychedelic Rock)
Over the past couple of years, the Indian Music Industry has gone through a major shift giving way for bands to showcase a variety of new concepts to music lovers. For the first time in our country, Moonshine, a Delhi based band is introducing the concept of entirely original psychedelic rock. Moonshine is the brainchild of Rishi Sachdeva, who has been an integral part of the underground music scene for quite a while. Rishi is the Frontman of Moonshine. Along with him, the band consists of Ananddev Banerjee on Guitars, Nikhil Vasudevan on Drums and Bijoy Sarkar on the Bass Guitar The biggest influence of their music is life experiences which lets the band put a part of their soul into their songs. The band’s music is an entourage of sonic and surreal sounds with provoking lyrics and haunting melodies. Moonshine will launching their debut album in a couple of months, but commercial success is not a priority for the band. According to Rishi, the band does not care much about mass opinion and prefers to have a small yet dedicated following. A firm believer of the Gita, he says ‘Do your stuff, do it right and good results will follow’.

Launching into the new year with a big bang or two, WWYYZZZRRDDZ
refresh the Disco 31 format to cover an even wider swathe of
time-space in Disco 3001. The intergalactic explorers bip & bounce
across the known galaxy in search of the unknown, from quazars of
gleaming & beaming pop culture references to black holes of forgotten classics & guilty pleasures. Over 50 years ago, the first funk and disco groups were laying down the grooves that all modern dance music emerged from. WWYYZZZRRDDZ seek to forge the broken links between all these eras and genres of dance culture. Starting with original classics from soul, funk, & disco, we move into pop, R&B, hip hop, electro, & house… But we don’t stop there anymore, WWYYZZZRRDDZ bring the new millenium’s fertile fields of new genres with force: the hottest remixes & mash-ups plus global bass, gypsy house, balkan beats, dutch house, parisian filter house, jersey club, baltimore bounce, baile funk, kuduro, kwaito, secousse, shangaan, moombahton, 3bal, cumbia, afrobeat, bollywood, lollywood – it’s all up for grabs in an environment where all dance music forms a single continuum.

Exciting, innovative live music from the underground. Spanning across genres from jazz, blues, rock, funk & more, and across global borders as well…

02/03/2012 JATIN PURI & WILD CITY DJ (Electronica/Garage)

Jatin Puri has recently burst onto the New Delhi live-music circuit, quickly gaining a reputation for his original and innovative electronica. Although influenced by trip-hop, breakbeat, underground hip-hop, bass-heavy and even pop genres, Jatin Puri’s eclectic sound defies easy classification. His slick electronic tracks are all self-produced, composed, performed and sung. Jatin Puri has released two albums, provided scores for short films and previously was the drummer in the band Another Vertigo Rush. You can also catch his music on his latest album Purify (available on iTunes for electronic download, or in CD format from various retailers). He will be joined by Wild City DJ. Head honcho of Indian magazine and cultural hub thewildcity.com, aptly named Wild City DJ has a peculiar and varied taste in music. Straddling hip-hop, garage, grime, bass, house, techno, alternative electronica and anything in between, WCDJ always brings an informative set, favouring upfront and left of centre music over yesterday’s tired hits. Having been a part of the underground electronic movement in London for a number of years WCDJ brings to the table a fresh and undeniably UK sound to his live shows.

http://www.facebook.com/jatinpurimusic
http://www.thewildcity.com/EN/index.xhtml

09/03/2012 THE POLITICIANS feat. NOAH ROSENBLOOM (Singer-Songwriter/Indie)

Noah Rosenbloom is a composer, performer, arranger and producer based in Melbourne, Australia. Familiar with both popular styles, including rock, folk and jazz, and more classical tastes, his skills have come into great demand on the Melbourne music scene since receiving his bachelor degree in music performance from Monash University. His interests lie in creating fresh and exciting scores and recordings for use in film and television, mixing established styles with innovative electronic textures. He will be joined by local Delhi musicians Nikhil Mawkin (RED, Raag Billy Bop), Shikhar Prasad (RED, Raag Billy Bop) & Nishad Pandey (Kendraka).

http://noahrosenbloom.com/#

16/03/2012 MOONSHINE (Psychedelic Rock)

Over the past couple of years, the Indian Music Industry has gone through a major shift giving way for bands to showcase a variety of new concepts to music lovers. For the first time in our country, Moonshine, a Delhi based band is introducing the concept of entirely original psychedelic rock. Moonshine is the brainchild of Rishi Sachdeva, who has been an integral part of the underground music scene for quite a while. Rishi is the Frontman of Moonshine. Along with him, the band consists of Ananddev Banerjee on Guitars, Nikhil Vasudevan on Drums and Bijoy Sarkar on the Bass Guitar. The biggest influence of their music is life experiences which lets the band put a part of their soul into their songs.

23/03/2012 VIALKA (Avante-Garde/Prog)

Vialka hail from deepest France, via everywhere and nowhere. They are a devilishly high-spirited guitar/drums duo who tour hard and fast across the world. Their music skips joyfully across borders, channeling desert blues, Chinese folk songs, scatter rock and European gypsy song dynamics in a whirlwind of dervish energy. Their endless gypsy punk folk rock tales, hard hitting poly-rhythms and yelps and howls make for a danceable and intoxicating brew. Their music is a great mixture of genres and influences such as folk, rock, punk (in their musical “attitude”, mostly) and Balkan music. Formed in 2002, Vialka consists of Marylise Frecheville and Eric Boros. Catch them for the first time in India, right here at TLR.

http://vialka.com/

30/03/2012 SPACE (Hindustani Trip Hop)

In the winter of 2008, one evening Tritha along with her friend, Ritika decided to make music very “simply”… Using unassuming objects like a Tibetan prayer bowl, a ghungroo (used by Indian kathak dancers on their feet) and many other street percussive objects, they created a two voice harmonic sound. SPACE is now a journey where musicians, dancers and visual artists from various parts of the world keep boarding and sharing their human experiences through musical conversations. Instruments like tabla, saxophone, djembe, guitar have been brilliantly featured and a constant flow of new thoughts and fresh sounds fills up the feeling of SPACE. Space plays a subtle mix of electro-fusion folk pop, in 6 languages – Hindi, english, bengali, punjabi, sanskrit, tamil. And some random sounds and tribal calls too… Many call it the hindustan trip-hop music from India!!

http://www.tritha.com/space/

THIS FEBRUARY @ TLR…CARNAVALE!
15/02/2012-21/02/2012

T.L.R., in association with Miller High Life & The Imported Go(o)ds, takes you on a leisure cruise to the hottest Carnavale destinations around the world, with nightly stops for you to get off the ship and onto the shore to mingle with the fiesty natives, sample the local delicacies and engage in their customs & culture. Carnavale is the festive season that occurs just before Lent, a period of fasting. A Catholic tradition that has evolved to include the world, Carnavale is a vibrant celebration of song, dance, food, drink & merriment.

We launch the Carnavale cruise ship from New Orleans, U.S.A., where live band Los Jass Bastardos cook up a creole of sounds combining the jazz and latin quarters of that mysterious port of call for pirates & hustlers; then hop across the Gulf of Mexico to Kingston, Jamaica, for a Carribean jam-down with Reggae Rajahs, India’s original reggae soundsystem; then it’s a skip & a jump across the Atlantic to Barcelona, Spain, with live band Mana, wooing you with flamenco guitar & mediterranean moods; gaining momentum, we surf the waves across to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, for a spectacular tropical bass street party with T.L.R.’s resident DJ/VJ team WWYYZZZRRDDZ, on the climax of T.L.R.’s carnavale on the official date of the world-famous Rio Carnavale, known for its decadence & ostentatiousness.

The Carnavale fun doesn’t end there. From the party capital of Rio we head inland to fiesty Mexico City for live music by Negra Pradera plus Games Night with your host with the most, Su-Real! Quizzes, charades and of course drinking contests offering free drinks and prizes for the quickest sharpshooters on deck. Monday, relax on the long voyage across the Cape of Good Hope and into the Indian Ocean, with our sights on our home port of Goa, where we wind up Carnavale with Mardi Gras, a.k.a. Fat Tuesday. Traditionally, Mardi Gras is a feast-of-no-return that signals the beginning of the holy fasting period of Lent, and so we’ll be providing an All-You-Can-Eat-&-Drink package (terms & conditions apply) that’ll keep you full all Lent long, and DJ Vinoo will be providing a melange of delicate sonic flavors from around the world to ease you back into your normal life.

Paella, Fajitas, Burritos, Nachos, Guacamole, Piri Piri Prawns & much more will be streaming out of our kitchen with tastes, smells, sensations worthy of a proper fiesta. Wash it all down with specials all day & night on Corona, T.L.R.’s signature Rum Punch & Sangria, and of course, Tequila!

* DISCO 31 * (Club Night) on Saturdays

Every Saturday night, our humble boho lounge mutates into a discotheque inspired by the timeless decadence of the notorious Studio 54, reimagined here as Disco 31. WWYYZZZRRDDZ, T.L.R.’s resident audiovisual unit, program a series of club nights and a line-up of underground DJs, crystallizing TLR Café’s reputation as one of New Delhi’s most unique and exciting nightlife destinations.

04/02/2012 FLASH HARDCOR
Super-villain DJ Flash Hardcor first appeared after a tragic accident
during which radioactive particles of undiluted funk overwhelmed the
college radio station at which he worked. The only survivor of the
accident, Flash HarDcor sought his revenge by forcing hips to shake
via a mind control system comprised of soul, electro, baile funk,
baltimore club, fuzzy synths, kuduro, gun shot samples, and steel
drums. By day, he lives disguised as Kerry Harwin, a nerdy campaigner against climate change. By night, he dons his red jumpsuit in an unending war against the forces of sobriety.

11/02/2012 &
18/02/2012 WWYYZZZRRDDZ

25/02/2012 SLUMGODS feat. MANDEEP SETHI, HE RA
Mandeep Sethi is a young and seasoned emcee/producer/film-maker from Los Angeles that has shown and proven his ability to rhyme and
freestyle with the best. Performing internationally for the last 5
years, Mandeep has had the honor of rocking the mic alongside legends such as Afrika Bambaataa (GodFather of Hip Hop), Ziggy Marley, RZA (Wu Tang Clan), and many more. Sethi brings the authentic hip hop culture to the stage, born and raised off the LA Freestyle Culture. He is also deeply involved in the development of the underground hip hop scene within India, working with Tiny Drops Hip Hop community centerl to spread the culture among Indian youth. At T.L.R. he is joined by his compadres from Tiny Drops and SlumGods, most notably breakdancer and budding breaks DJ He Ra.

03/02/2012 RAINER PUSCH TRIO (Saxophone Led Jazz)
As an internationally known and renowned saxophonist, arranger and composer, Rainer Pusch has always been interested in trying out new kinds of music. His spectrum ranges from a jazzy background obtained during his studies at the Berklee College of Music (Boston) to various performances with funk, latin and pop bands over the years. His sudden wish to explore the world of classic South Indian music began eight years ago, taking vocal and instrumental lessons from S. Rajaram, the highly respected director and teacher of the Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts, Chennai, as well as other classical teachers such as Madurai G. S. Mani and Selva Ganesh. This added yet another style to his musical palette. After several three to five months stays in Chennai between 1996 and 1998, a two years scholarship from the Indian Council on Cultural Relations enabled him to further deepen his knowledge of South Indian Carnatic music. Beside his studies in Carnatic music, Rainer Pusch ́s manifold interests brought him to collaborate repeatedly with many famed Indian musicians such as the Mumbai based guitarists Keith and Karl Peters, with Louis Banks, Dr. Mysore Manjunath, Sivamani or Ranjit Barot within the scope of Indo-Jazz Fusion projects. Further collaborations included recordings with A.R. Rahman and Ramnath Gopalnat as well as many gigs with Ganesh Kumar, Selva Ganesh, Dr. Balamuralikrishnan, and Amit Heri. He will be performing at TLR with along with other delhi based Jazz musicians, giving it a local flavor.

10/02/2012 RAAG BILLY BOP (Indie/Fusion)
A long-time aficionado and student of North Indian classical music,
Legendary Boston Underground Hero, Guitarist, Composer, and Song Writer Phil Kaplan is bringing his very special blend of Rock and Roll, Jazz, Blues, and Fusion back to India, for a series of live appearances in February 2011. Only this time, it will be to unveil the heretofore best-kept secret in town: Raag Billy Bop. “‘Round about the end of the last monsoon season (2011), brothers Nikhil Mawkin and Clarence Gonsalves assembled an amazing cast of fearless talent, ready to try anything, and I can accurately say that Raag Bily Bop was forged in some serious heat! Along the way he has developed a customized guitar he calls the “Guitarod,” and has built up a body of work that is the result of a uniquely seamless blending and an unmistakable sound. Indeed, Phil says: “The gig has been to combine our respective roots and traditions organically, to grow sweet new songs, even creating new song forms. Raag Billy Bop truly captures the essence of what I have been on a musical journey all my life to make happen, to realize. I can hardly wait to pick up where we left off, and deliver the goods to audiences I know will dig this music greatly!”

17/02/2012 MANA (Flamenco/Mediterranean)
Mana is a duo, headed by Wellesley. Wellesley pays homage to his Spanish and Portuguese ancestry by playing traditional and original music in these languages. They are known to woo the crowd with their romantic lyrics, and the typical flamenco style of guitar that is played usually in Mediterranean climates and situations. As a band, Mana has played internationally in London, Tehran, Dubai and also in Indian cities like Delhi, Jaipur and Bombay. All in all, Mana is a rare treat to come across in India, and as an experience, its a must!

24/02/2012 JOLT (Live Electronica)
Jolt is a four member instrumental band experimenting and creating unique sounds fusing Funk Jazz, Drum&Bass and Electronica. These seasoned musicians who have been part of industry stalwarts such as Soulmate, HFT, Level 9, Radius ..etc have joined forces to form a band that is both highly creative and entertaining.

Every Saturday night, our humble boho lounge at T.L.R. mutates into a discotheque inspired by the timeless decadence of the notorious Studio 54, reimagined here as Disco 31. WWYYZZZRRDDZ, T.L.R.’s resident audiovisual unit, program a series of club nights and a line-up of underground DJs, crystallizing TLR Café’s reputation as one of New Delhi’s most unique and exciting nightlife destinations.

Launching into the new year with a big bang or two, WWYYZZZRRDDZ refresh the Disco 31 format to cover an even wider swathe of time-space, in the post-retro-futuristic realms of Disco 3001. The intergalactic explorers bip & bounce across the known galaxy in search of the unknown, from quazars of gleaming & beaming pop culture references to black holes of forgotten classics & guilty pleasures.

Special Guests in January:
14/01/2012 FLASH HARDCOR
Super-villain DJ Flash Hardcor first appeared after a tragic accident during which radioactive particles of undiluted funk overwhelmed the college radio station at which he worked. The only survivor of the accident, Flash HarDcor sought his revenge by forcing hips to shake via a mind control system comprised of soul, electro, baile funk, baltimore club, fuzzy synths, kuduro, gun shot samples, and steel drums. By day, he lives disguised as Kerry Harwin, a nerdy campaigner against climate change. By night, he dons his red jumpsuit in an unending war against the forces of sobriety.

21/01/2012 CIRCUS OF GROOVE feat. ANDRE GARDEJA
TLR is always excited to host André Gardeja for a night of authentic deep minimal techno and European house music.

06/01/2012 THE LAST PUFF (INDIE/STONER/PSYCHEDELIC)
The Last Puff was formed in 2009 by two friends Ankit and Kshitiz, after they met through a social networking website and started jamming at a friend’s play school terrace room. Kushagra’s elder brother was Ankit’s classmate in school, so he asked him to come and jam with them. Hence, in the winter of 2009, The Last Puff was born. All the band members are inspired individually by certain various genres, like the guy on the vocals and guitar is into Grunge, Psychedelic, Jazz, Goth and all other peculiar genres giving an unexpected raw touch to their music. The bass guitarist is more into melodic metal, giving a heavy touch to the band’s sound. The band’s drummer is into Thrash and Speed Metal giving a dynamic and speedy touch to the rhythm. The band has been working full time on their own compositions, and has fully written and composed an album worth of songs. Having enough music in their heads to keep them busy till the end of time!

13/01/2012 TRITHA (GLOBAL TRIP HOP)
Tritha’s spellbinding voice has connected with numerous music lovers from all over the world. Brought up in the culturally intense city of Kolkata, Tritha is one of the most promising musicians in her country, equally at home with her Indian Classical music as with Bjork and Janis Joplin, Abida Parveen and Aretha Franklin. Tritha will be featuring her material as a solo artist, and will be joined by a few members of SPACE filling out her sound.

20/01/2012 RED (ROCK N ROLL BABY!)
After a long break from the popular Mawkin Revival, Nikhil Mawkin is returning to revive the retro with electrifying singing and galvanizing performance. Nikhil will be playing various genres and literally playing with them. Nikhil Mawkin is a well-known name in the music circuit in Delhi as well as in Boston. He has made his mark in the music circuit with bands like Mawkin Revival and Cuenta Cuentos. Mawkin has a flair for bringing together different genres of music and blending them to create a sound that is unique. He now divides his time playing drums in both Boston and Delhi. His current projects are on their way with namely the Bollywood jazz project and RED. RED brings Nikhil Mawkin back in the shoes of a singer and belts out cover tunes in his own voice and shape. Giving it an uncommon sound. Singing popular songs which are performed away from the usual approach. Nikhil’s voice sounding quite different from the original artists, gives the newness to the songs all over again. Using the old, but keeping it fresh.

27/01/2012 SYNCOPATION (FREE JAZZ)
